( WELCOME BACK, TRAVELERS. )

There's nothing but the clatter of train tracks, and the odd feeling of almost floating.
When you wake, it's hard to tell exactly what it is that you're missing - only that you are. There are pieces that aren't quite right, even if you're not sure where those pieces would normally be. Pieces of what, exactly....? Well, if you had to put a word to it, it would be - yourself, probably. Or did you get something back recently? In addition, characters will find that they've been allowed to bring back souvenirs from this most recent trip - trinkets, nothing violent, but items that can fit in your character's pockets, whether that be sentimental or otherwise.
The place you've found yourself in is strange, certainly. It's probably worth exploring a bit. For those who have been here a while, they might notice some expansions. Though it just as easily seems that the only form of welcome or explanation that you have, comes from nothing more than a slab of marble.
It might've changed since the last time you saw it. Today it reads:
You might have changed since the last time you saw yourself too - perhaps with a new emblem on your clothes, or a portrait on your skin. In addition to that, it seems like Home Base is on the fritz again…?
It seems that suddenly and at random, characters will be able to suddenly see visions of memories that aren't their own flash before their eyes. Pieces of your lives or where you were before this will suddenly slam into other's heads, as clearly as if they experienced the event and the feelings themselves. You might have an inkling of where your memory went and what it was - but you'll need to talk it out with that person in order to recollect it in all its strength back to yourself. Don't you want to keep those precious parts of yourself? It's best if you don't fall more to pieces while you're here. (Memories that have been lost in fragments cannot be sent to others - that's more fun for the future!)
There's no need to fret that much though. You've already gone through the ordeal once, and you might be able to see results from it. Or maybe you'll get a glimpse of where you're going next. Even so, it's best that you don't get too comfortable, because there is still the unshakeable feeling:
There's still much more ahead of you.

(*´ω`)o That wasn't so bad, was it?
Hey, you know how that old song goes?
Do you believe in magic? (☆▽☆) Do ya?
Hope you found what you were looking for!

Conviction is one thing Mo Xuanyu certainly didn't seem to be lacking in. There aren't many people in the world who would resort to a ritual like that.

At the cost of your own soul, too. [rip in rest forever mxy] But that I do! A farmer I've never met before on the other side of the country could probably curse my name for ending up with a broken wagon axle and no one would bat a lash.
[HIS TERRIBLE REPUTATION.]
no subject
Though this does seem a fair bit more drastic.
no subject
[RAISING HIS HANDS. He'll brush off his bad rep until the day he dies again, and also take this chance to immediately run away from his past crimes.]
How in the world did you manage to get blacklisted so badly? That is a feat.
no subject
Oh, I'm not very liked by the right people, so to speak.
[i was going to have him properly explain, but then i remembered he has a memory for this, so you get surprise memshare back! up to 1:11:22.]
no subject
—Regicide, hm? And through the front gate... A bold move I'd expect from you!
no subject
Hahaha, I had help getting in! Leaving was easier, since I'd already failed.
no subject
That part is a little surprising, actually - that they'd just let you leave after attempting regicide. How in the world did that happen? I think you had left with someone named Aldo, and another person named Shion was already out there once you left.
no subject
—Wait, Shion was what!?
no subject
[Then, with a little quirk of a grin:]
He said he was glad that you were safe, though.
no subject
Shion rarely shows me so much consideration...!
no subject
[He sounds a little amused, though...]
That's the way samurai are meant to be in stereotype, hm? Reticent and serious.
no subject

[SHIGURE IS THE ANTI-SAMURAI.]
no subject
no subject
[He'd have loved to get to know Shigure as a bastion for The Samurai Class, honestly?!]
no subject
no subject
[They're both fucking clouds of ominous frenetic energy so this is probably not the most surprising OR best thing, but hey, here they are.]
Anyway - right, right. I should probably give the rest of that memory back to you, yes? Funny timing, since it answered the question of how you managed to be blacklisted from the wedding books. No one else wants to bring that sort of wrath down on their daughters, hm?
no subject
How convenient! But yes, Genshin hates me. Really, though, if he wasn't such scum, then perhaps I wouldn't insult him all the time.
[or like
try to assassinate him]
no subject
ANYWAY he likes Shigure which means he's biased toward Shigure automatically. Surely he has a good reason for insulting and attempting to assassinate someone he refers to as scum! He's got Wei Wuxian's support, 10/10.]
Is he a dictator? A tyrannical ruler? Was that your first attempt at taking him down?
no subject
he nods.]
It was. My subordinates provided the opportunity... I really must do better next time, to deserve their respect.
[...]
Genshin is the sort of man who blackmails others to get what he wants, abuses his people, and would try to kill the king of another country who has done him no wrong. [he shakes his head, clearly peeved.] It would be bad enough if crippling the country was his only goal, but the true worth, for him, is giving those assassination orders to someone he knows would hate carrying them out.
no subject
WOW THOUGH sounds exactly like the sort of person Wei Wuxian would probably also try to commit regicide against, if he were in Shigure's shoes. Or if this guy happened to live in MDZSverse. Thank god he doesn't, they already have enough problems.]
Hah... There really are those sorts in every world, aren't there? [He clicks his tongue disapprovingly, and then shakes his head.]
Well - knowing what I know of you, I'm sure you won't stop until you succeed, one way or another.

Then:] I only wish that I could be there to celebrate your victory with you!
