intro log.
welcome mingle
( AND SO IT BEGINS. )

There's nothing but the clatter of train tracks, and the odd feeling of almost floating.
When you wake, it's hard to tell exactly what it is that you're missing - only that you are. There are pieces that aren't quite right, even if you're not sure where those pieces would normally be. Pieces of what, exactly....? Well, if you had to put a word to it, it would be - yourself, probably.
The place you've found yourself in is strange, certainly. It's probably worth exploring a bit. Though it just as easily seems that the only form of welcome or explanation that you have, comes from nothing more than a slab of marble.
Well - that, and all the people who seem to have woken up alongside you, lost and also probably Doing Their Best™.
There's no need to fret that much though. It's hard to say exactly where you're going next, even though some places might feel a little bit more like a clue, but what you do know is one unshakeable thing:
There's still much more ahead of you.

What do you think? Do they suit me?
1/2
[also there is, like]
[the briefest of pauses]
[with Akira's features slackening slightly in vague recognition]
[it's definitely an expression Rise has seen before from the casual fans she might run into on the street!!]
no subject
Absolutely, they do.
[his response is quick and perfectly deadpan. although he's being truthful!! they do suit her!!!]
It's uncatty how well you can make them work.
[uncatty. uncanny. get it. okay that one is a bit of a stretch]
no subject
Especially not while she's now wearing cat ears.]
That one could've used a little work, but I'll give you points for creativity. [It's fine? She's actually pleased that he seems to be taking this in stride.] Guess you can never be too early to start celebrating. Are you handing these out to everybody?
no subject
I am. I thought they made a nice welcome gift.
[as though it's his job to welcome people when he has been kidnapped just as much as they have]
The noise might inevitably tick someone off, though.
no subject
They do lighten the mood for sure. But if you're careful you can get away without making any noise at all. [And to demonstrate, she takes a few steps away and back on the balls of her feet, the bells not jingling this time.] See? Easy.
no subject
Stealth mode. . .
[he sounds impressed]
Is that what they call "poise training?"
[is it called poise training?? the kind of training where someone can walk with tea on their head without spilling it??]
no subject
I guess you could call it that, yeah. It's easier to dance if you keep your moves light like this.
no subject
That does sound like the kind of thing they'd teach an idol.
[-- ah. with a few blinks, Akira rubs the back of his neck and continues, almost apologetically]
Sorry. I was trying not to call attention to it.
no subject
I didn't think I'd find someone here who actually knew. [Hewwo??] You recognize me? I thought I was imagining it, but...
no subject
[HE DOESN'T SAY THAT ALOUD BECAUSE THAT'S CREEPY]
It's a small-- [world?] -- universe.
no subject
No kidding. [She seems a little delighted though because maybe she's less alone than she anticipated.] Where exactly are you from?
no subject
Tokyo. For the time being.
[?? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN, though he isn't elaborating]
I've seen posters of your new work, "Sapphire," all over the city.
[is it an album or a single or a movie I don't know but it's SOMETHING]
no subject
I just moved back. [Because what else would "the city" mean in the context of Personaverse, whatever!! But she seems a bit perplexed by that title, even if her tone and her smile is still playful.] I don't think I've heard of that one though. Are you sure it's mine?
no subject
[huh. . . it strange that she doesn't recognize the title of her newest work. then again, on all of those posters she looks--]
[. . .]
[way older??]
[which is something he's been polite about not mentioning, but now he's kind of giving her a curious, slightly puzzled look of his own]
no subject
[That. Sure does make sense. Totally.] Or it's an imposter.
no subject
. . . wasn't your comeback from hiatus a few years ago?
[although Akira has read enough sci-fi in his life to get the feeling he knows where this is going]
no subject
no subject
Suddenly.
What year is it for you?
no subject
no subject
[AND, WITH A COMPLETELY EVEN EXPRESSION]
Yep.
The far future year of 2017.
