welcome mingle
( AND SO IT BEGINS. )

There's nothing but the clatter of train tracks, and the odd feeling of almost floating.
When you wake, it's hard to tell exactly what it is that you're missing - only that you are. There are pieces that aren't quite right, even if you're not sure where those pieces would normally be. Pieces of what, exactly....? Well, if you had to put a word to it, it would be - yourself, probably.
The place you've found yourself in is strange, certainly. It's probably worth exploring a bit. Though it just as easily seems that the only form of welcome or explanation that you have, comes from nothing more than a slab of marble.
Well - that, and all the people who seem to have woken up alongside you, lost and also probably Doing Their Best™.
There's no need to fret that much though. It's hard to say exactly where you're going next, even though some places might feel a little bit more like a clue, but what you do know is one unshakeable thing:
There's still much more ahead of you.

But I'm sure someone here does.

[he seems to be thinking of something
before shrugging]
Maybe we can just put 'dance!' Everyone gets a kick out of dancing, right?
no subject
[R. . . RUDE?? YOU CAN'T JUST COME OUT AND SAY THOSE THINGS, AKIRA!!]
Not everyone, but probably enough for it to be a good suggestion.

Oi!! I can't be that much older than you!
[LIKE MAYBE 5/6 YEARS BECAUSE TRIGGER TOLD US WE'RE NEVER GETTING A REAL NUMBER]
no subject
[adjusting his glasses as he leans back, the lenses flashing opaque]
I had you pegged at one hundred and twenty-three. Was I wrong?

[HE CROSSES HIS ARMS]

Seventy-five?

[he just makes an aggravated noise, like a big grumpy dog]
Ahh, I can't believe I'm getting punked by a five year old!!
[this is his REVENGE
CLEARLY he is a roasting GENIUS]

[it's unfortunate that Akira knows how to take things in STRIDE]

What the hell do kids learn these days...
no subject
[this is not the question poor Galo asked, but it's the answer Akira is giving him]
no subject
[DAMN, THE YOUTH ARE SO ROWDY THESE DAYS
but as he's thinking that
he pauses]
... maybe I am getting out of touch...
no subject
I'm kidding.
[POOR GALO. . . but hey at least Akira knows better than to push a joke too far]
I'll lay off from here on out; promise.

[jUST SO AKIRA KNOWS!!!! that said Galo's hard to like
actually offend so he's just huffing briefly]
But good!! Don't pick fights with people who're harder to get along with than me.
no subject
Got it. Thanks for the advice.
[look the only reason he picked on Galo a bit is because he was pretty sure Galo would take it in stride and HE WAS RIGHT, so]
I'm Akira, by the way. And you are?
no subject
The one and only amazing Galo Thymos!! A firefighter with a burning soul that's hotter than any flame!
So... even if you're kind of a punk, let me know if you're ever in trouble! I'll save you too!
no subject
It's nice to know you're here to protect the punks, too.
[Akira says with a touch of amusement, hand resting over his heart]
