intro log.
welcome mingle
( AND SO IT BEGINS. )

There's nothing but the clatter of train tracks, and the odd feeling of almost floating.
When you wake, it's hard to tell exactly what it is that you're missing - only that you are. There are pieces that aren't quite right, even if you're not sure where those pieces would normally be. Pieces of what, exactly....? Well, if you had to put a word to it, it would be - yourself, probably.
The place you've found yourself in is strange, certainly. It's probably worth exploring a bit. Though it just as easily seems that the only form of welcome or explanation that you have, comes from nothing more than a slab of marble.
Well - that, and all the people who seem to have woken up alongside you, lost and also probably Doing Their Best™.
There's no need to fret that much though. It's hard to say exactly where you're going next, even though some places might feel a little bit more like a clue, but what you do know is one unshakeable thing:
There's still much more ahead of you.

Minato, for his part, stirs pretty slowly, yawning and stretching a little when Lan Wangji nudges him.
His back pops when he stretches, which like. Just confirms what Lan Wangji is saying.]
Hm...? What? Oh--sorry, do you work here...?
[Minato, does he look like he works here?]
no subject
Lan Wangji doesn't take offense, though, simply shakes his head.]
No. [But--] You seemed uncomfortable.
[Actually he seemed perfectly comfortable, it's just his caregiver instincts kicking in...]
There are better places to rest, outside. [DON'T SLEEP IN STORES... he's mainly thinking of the train seats, which at least looked pretty soft last he saw them? Surely that would be better than this.]
no subject
Oh... I guess there are. But I couldn't find the way out.
[SO HE GAVE UP... how lazy.]
no subject
Would you like guidance?
[Even if he hadn't figured out which signs indicate how to get outta here, he's like 6'2" so he can just see over everyone's heads anyway]
no subject
Er... yeah, actually, that'd be great. Thanks for the help.
no subject
He steps back a little bit, contemplative.]
Do you need assistance getting down?
no subject
...]
No, that's okay--I've got it.
[And with a surprising amount of grace considering how stupid his intro threads have been, Minato slides off of the pillow pile and lands relatively neatly on the ground.
Phew!!]
All set now.
... Oh, I'm Minato, by the way. Arisato Minato.
no subject
Lan Zhan, courtesy name Wangji. [And just in case, because he knows by now that not everyone is from Ancient China--] Please call me Lan Wangji.
[And off they go, towards the exit! Despite how wildly out of place he looks, he does seem to actually kinda-sorta know which way he's going, so that's something.]
no subject
Hmmmm.
He looks...very contemplative at that.
Even as he follows along...]
... Lan Wangji-san...?
[... It's fine, right?]
Anyway--it's nice to meet you.
no subject
[CLOSE ENOUGH, it's fine. That's also his version of a "likewise", and unless Minato tries to make conversation on the way out, Lan Wangji will probably just quietly lead the way, until they get to the exit!
Yes, he's like this all the time. Your new dad's not much of a talker, Minato, sorry.
He's at least noticeably making sure his new charge is following, though, as if to make sure he doesn't run into any trouble. He's clearly used to herding teenagers... he's also maybe kind of looking to see if anything catches Minato's eye, on the way out. WILL THEY PASS A GIANT CRATE OF HEADPHONES ON THE WAY]
no subject
He pokes a fuzzy blanket on the way out, definitely makes some eyes at those fancy headphones, and even ends up squinting at a box of those chocolate panda cookies.
Hmmm...!!
(He keeps following, though, sans those small distractions.)]
no subject
Aside from the blankets, that is!! When they get to those, he stops, staring at them with no change to his expression whatsoever. He stays where he is for a moment, then walks over, lifting an entire crate of them with one hand--before continuing to lead the way to the exit, all without a single comment.
WELL THEN.]
no subject
Minato blinks... but then follows, tilting his head.]
... Do you need all of those...?
no subject
Some are for you. [ONLY SOME because if he gives them all to poor Minato they'll be more of a burden than a gift. As for the rest--] The others will go to the person I am traveling with.
[aka Lan Wangji is incapable of not being a big dumb gay for 0.2 seconds]
no subject
Ah... well... thank you.
[He says that softly, blinking.]
Um--the person you're traveling with? Does that mean you ended up here with someone from home?
no subject
Yes. His name is Wei Wuxian. [A pause.] Have you met?
no subject
... Oh. Yes, actually--I met him earlier. He played some amazing music. [When not using the kazoo.]
no subject
For now, though, he's blissfully unaware, and something on his face softens. It's not quite a smile, but he definitely looks fond.]
Yes. He is very talented. [FORTUNATELY FOR MINATO Lan Wangji is not the type to gush on and on, even though he absolutely could if he wanted to. Instead--] Did he give you any trouble?
[JUST PREEMPTIVELY ASKING, BECAUSE HE FUCKIN KNOWS WEI WUXIAN]
no subject
The blankest of blinks.
??]
Er... no, he didn't cause me any trouble.
Why do you ask...?
no subject
[A kind way of saying "he's a gosh dang maniac who can and WILL drag you into his shenanigans"...]
no subject
[???
He's extra confused now.]
no subject
And then Lan Wangji just gives up trying to be nice, because he may be a big dumb gay but he's also brutally honest when he feels like it]
Sometimes he enjoys causing chaos for no reason at all, regardless of who is around.
no subject
[He definitely nods understandingly at that.]
I get it. I've definitely met people like that before.
Don't worry--I think I can handle that sort of thing.
no subject
[That's good, then; he has an inkling that no one is really prepared for Wei Wuxian until they've experienced him at full chaos power, but at least Minato's got some friendly warning.]
His intentions are often harmless. But it is good to be aware.
