world zero: game on!

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and because this is the Isle of Champions - they will be singing forever. You step through an Airport much like the one that you witnessed in The Space - but this one is bustling with life. Streamers and banners line every inch of the walls, praising athletes and bold font encouraging each kingdom to take home the gold!! Haggard assistants run through the airport terminal with luggage carts, and lines of fans with cameras and items they’d like signed wait behind ropes that keep them all in one place.

A few steps in, a jingling tone and vibration might alert you to something in your pocket. Investigating it will reveal a cell phone - and a message just for you!

Welcome to all athletes, supporters, merchants, and esteemed guests to The Isle of Champions for the 10th Annual War Games! The island has been gifted with the latest technology in order to help ensure efficiency and comfort during your visit. Please utilize the digital maps and assistants in order to make it to your hotel and destinations beyond. Thank you for your patronage, and victory to us all!

Original characters will then find themselves with a very, very brief summary of what their Remixed life would have been - but it only pertains to facts about themselves, like their kingdom and occupation! There's no mention of their relationships with the other characters. For those of you who haven't crafted possible Remixed lives, you'll only get:

The Isle of Champions is a bustling city, and you'll have to make it through Downtown to actually get to your destination. Whether you're on foot or grabbed a car, you'll see the shops and tourists fill the streets! Every restaurant and dessert shop seems to have its own special gimmick item for the Games, and some people might give you dirty looks on the street if they see you repping a snowcone with a different Kingdom emblem than their own. Phew, competitive much? But more than that, you'll see merchandise for all the different athletes that are competing in the Games - see a familiar face on there? Maybe even if you're own? Or are you going to be the person that buys all your friends' merch just to embarrass them later?

The Hotel where you might want to drop off your stuff - if you have... stuff....? - is about as glamorous as you would expect! It's a structure that's been renovated and improved with each incarnation of the Games, which is a rather fortunate thing as you might notice that reporters, politicians, and other big wigs are assigned to stay here. Other general fans and spectators might have their rooms here, if they didn't get a more inexpensive room in a different inn downtown, but they're definitely on the first ten floors as opposed to eleven and up which sound like they're reserved for the fancy shmancy folks.

But you might also be led to this location with the talk of the Gala that'll be held halfway through the Games - all throughout the first two weeks, it looks like people are getting ready for it! The Grand Ballroom on the second floor of the hotel has a set of double doors where only volunteers and staff can enter - maybe you can find a way in? However there apparently seems to be an odd legend that revolves around the Gala. If you fistbump your rival at midnight, you will both see each other in the Finals for your event the following Games. So? Do you think you're gonna get bumped? ;)

Well, where are the stars of the show anyway....? It looks like Victory Village is where all the athletes are stationed!! All the athletes will be dorming here, and each of them have their own room! Who can say what their situations with their neighbors might be like though - hopefully they get along! All the amenities can be found here - along with a number of luxurious add-ons. There's a 24/7 kitchen open to the athletes, with chefs from all around the world ready to cater to their needs. Not to mention training facilities, because this is about sportsball at the end of the day. Probably. Athletes will find a floor dedicated entirely to virtual reality simulations of every single sport that they might desire. Anyone within the room will begin the simulation with them! Isn't that fun?

And of course... The War Games Arena is majestic. A sight to see. It gleams against the sunlight, holding all the hopes and dreams of every athlete that wanted to compete. Each day holds a new event, and each day the athletes of each kingdom will compete to see how high they can place. Inside are the usual locker rooms, the stands with the thousands of screaming fans, and of course the VIP Lounge and Press Box. Well, surely there's a way to visit if you're really curious enough to get a sneak peek at what it might be like inside.

Finally, every inch of the island itself is gorgeous. The sunsets are famous here, and the beaches have only the softest sand and unfathomably massive swells of waves. Yet the interesting bit is that it seems like all throughout - a line of technology runs. Questions as simple as "Where am I?" will prompt a virtual screen to seemingly appear out of thin air, giving you a map of the island to navigate yourself. Though there may be an occasion where a little spot of fire, or a rain of ice, can be seen out of the corner of your eye - only for it to disappear entirely. Well… maybe they're just working some bugs out. Everything innovative requires a little bit of tinkering before it's fixed!

[ He's doing his best trying to get Lan Wangji to eat these damned snowcones so both their arms will be able to rest. ]

[HE NEVER WANTED TO EAT THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE

Then please take them out of my hands, and place them in the nearest garbage receptacle. [Honestly at this point Lan Wangji might as well just do it himself, but he's being stubborn...]

Eh... That'd be such a waste, though? If you don't want 'em, I know what to do! C'mere, c'mere, follow me~

[ He says follow, but what he does is place a hand flat on Lan Wangji's back to forward march him down the street. ]

[What the fck

He deliberately steps away from that hand, walking a little faster, but he goes in the direction Kano's trying to lead him--if he feels like changing his mind, he can just turn around and walk away, it's fine.]

[ They are walking down the street towards a park where a large mob has gathered and when they turn to see Lan Wangji, the mob seems to multiply and come closer. They will take the snowcones off his hands, and possibly steal his socks and shoes too BUT!!! the important thing is that he'll get rid of the snowcones without having to throw them away. See? Nothing wasted. You're welcome. ]

[NO ONE IS STEALING HIS SHOES OR SOCKS!!! They can try, but even though Lan Wangji has lost his ability to use his sword, he can at least still evade some GRABBY HANDS. He won't leave the mob empty-handed, at least; once he's freed from snowcone hell, he'll generously distribute merchandise from the bags on his arms. PLEASE TAKE IT ALL, MOB, HE DOESN'T WANT ANY OF IT.]

[ Somebody is trying very hard to get at least his shoelaces untied. Kano himself keeps out of the mob, because that's dangerous. It's very dangerous. He would hate being a popular anything. ]

Heeeeey~ Still alive in there? Still got all your limbs attached?!

[ Kano is short, please give him a sign you're still still somewhere inside that mob, Lan Wangji. ]

[HE DOESN'T HAVE SHOELACES STOP HE HAS BOOTS!! DON'T TRY AND TAKE HIS BOOTS OFF OF HIS FEET!!!! HE NEEDS THOSE OKAY HE DOESN'T REMEMBER HOW TO FLY AROUND ON HIS SWORD RIGHT NOW.

He hasn't forgotten everything, though, and it's with surprising finesse for such a big dude that he manages to slip out from this overenthusiastic group of, uh, "fans". Luckily, he has no forehead ribbon for anyone to grab onto, and his clothes are too strong to rip, which makes it easier to shrug people off. He's used to popularity, but not people being this grabby at him... TERRIBLE. THIS EXPERIENCE IS TERRIBLE.

So when he slips out of the mob, he doesn't feel at all bad about starting to just. Stride away down the street without looking back. His hands are empty now PLEASE DON'T FOLLOW HIM KANO LEAVE HIM IN PEACE!!! (Too bad he sticks out like a sore thumb in those Ye Olde white robes of his...)]

[ They're going to try and take his boots off his feet. Even when he slips out of the mob, it doesn't take long for the mob to notice they're nothing within grabby hand reach and turn around to find wherever Lan Wangi had gone off to— he makes the mistake of walking away instead of sprinting for his life, because walking makes it easy for Kano to run up and catch up to him, and the mob? the mob is a stampede running after him too. ]

We gotta make a break for it! Follow me: I know a shortcut that'll shake 'em off our tails~

[ Will Lan Wanji made the smart choice and ditch Kano ]

[Congratulations, Kano, you are the second most tenacious gremlin he's ever met in his long, long 35 years of life. AWFUL. He should truly just ditch Kano, but instead he makes the mistake of pausing to glare at him. ROOKIE MOVE LAN WANGJI]

You are the one that led us here. [WHY SHOULD HE NOT ABANDON KANO TO THE MOB HIMSELF, HUH! HUH!!!]

[ As long as he's not the worst, that's fine! He'll slowly make his way up the ranks, laughing at the entirely accurate accusation and instead of saying anything in return, takes the opportunity to catch up and also hook his arm with Lan Wangji's so he can't be abandoned unless Lan Wangji cuts off his own arm. ]

And now I'm getting us out~ This way, this way~

[ He turns Lan Wangji around and points down the road right in the face of the mob, except that as he does so, a sheet of ice appears on the ground and he sure is giving Lan Wangji a running start and a hard yank forward so they can slide down the street and bowl over everybody who gets in their way. ]

[This has got to be a secret gremlin technique that they all teach each other in their gremlin lair. AWFUL.

He's absolutely stiff, and he would've tried to pull away, except that Kano picks that moment to MAKE A GIANT SHEET OF ICE in the middle of the street so he's a little!! Busy!!!

Remarkably, he manages to stay on his feet, as expected of ~~someone who grew up flying around on swords like they're surfboards~~ a ~star athlete~, probably. But by the time their momentum runs out, he definitely looks disheveled from trying his hardest not to hit anyone, and he levels Kano with a fierce glare. IS KANO EVEN STILL AROUND TO BE LECTURED.]

Do not wreak senseless havoc.

[ Laughter bursts out of Kano's mouth the entire time they're sliding, pressed against Lan Wangji's side with a tight grip on his arm, Kano curled into a tight a ball as he can manage so he doesn't accidentally kick somebody in the face or stub of finger.

In the end, after all the sliding is over with, people screaming and leaping out of the way, nobody is hurt. That's all that matters to Kano, who lets go to step onto solid non-icy ground in preparation to flee for his life. ]

It wasn't senseless! Look, I got us out, just as promised~

[ Everybody else had run away BUT THE IMPORTANT THING IS they're no longer being mobbed. ]
