There's nothing but the clatter of train tracks, and the odd feeling of almost floating.

When you wake, it's hard to tell exactly what it is that you're missing - only that you are. There are pieces that aren't quite right, even if you're not sure where those pieces would normally be. Pieces of what, exactly....? Well, if you had to put a word to it, it would be - yourself, probably. Or did you get something back recently?

The place you've found yourself in is strange, certainly. It's probably worth exploring a bit. Though it just as easily seems that the only form of welcome or explanation that you have, comes from nothing more than a slab of marble. It might've changed since the last time you saw it.

You might have changed since the last time you saw yourself too - perhaps with a new emblem on your clothes, or a portrait on your skin.

There's no need to fret that much though. You've already gone through the ordeal once, and you might be able to see results from it. Even so, it's best that you don't get too comfortable, because there is still the unshakeable feeling:

Considering they're kind of complicit in mass abduction, or whatever you want to call this? Yeah, they probably have reason to think they won't be popular.

And where were you before you found yourself here?

[he pauses, with the reflexive reluctance of someone used to avoiding answers.]

... Edgewater. Dunno if you've heard of it.

I haven't. [ But. ] Is it near a major city? Colnora, maybe.

[descried]

It's a university city, so kind of? I've never heard of Colnora.

[bywolves]

You've - never heard of Colnora?

[ He sounds very surprised. ] Really? You - what about Sheridan?

Nope. Doesn't ring a bell.

[bywolves]

[ A pause. ]

What is the name of your continent?

[descried]

North America?

[bywolves]

... Well, that makes more sense. Or none at all.

[descried]

What's that supposed to mean?

[bywolves]

It means it makes sense that you haven't heard of the places I mentioned, because you're obviously not from the same continent as me. It makes no sense because Elan is the only continent I know of, which means either you're lying, or you're from another... world.

[descried]

Well, Elan's definitely not a continent on Earth, so... different world? Man, this is hard to wrap my head around.

[bywolves]

[ No kidding. Royce sighs heavily. ]

You also aren't wearing anything I've ever seen before, so that might be another indication that you're from another world. Which means we have bigger problems than I'd thought.

I just thought you were maybe a cosplayer or something.

[he sighs.]

I've got no idea how we're supposed to deal with this.

I don't have any ideas either, but I --

It's not a costume. I wear this so I don't freeze to death in the winter.

Yeah, I... figured once I realized it wasn't cosplay. Sorry. It's just that people don't really wear outfits like that where I'm from.

[bywolves]

[ Royce gives him the flattest stare from under his hood. ]
