There's nothing but the clatter of train tracks, and the odd feeling of almost floating.

When you wake, it's hard to tell exactly what it is that you're missing - only that you are. There are pieces that aren't quite right, even if you're not sure where those pieces would normally be. Pieces of what, exactly....? Well, if you had to put a word to it, it would be - yourself, probably. Or did you get something back recently?

The place you've found yourself in is strange, certainly. It's probably worth exploring a bit. Though it just as easily seems that the only form of welcome or explanation that you have, comes from nothing more than a slab of marble. It might've changed since the last time you saw it.

You might have changed since the last time you saw yourself too - perhaps with a new emblem on your clothes, or a portrait on your skin.

There's no need to fret that much though. You've already gone through the ordeal once, and you might be able to see results from it. Even so, it's best that you don't get too comfortable, because there is still the unshakeable feeling:

[Who is this man, drawing close and coming at him with a scarf? Sephiroth raises a gloved hand to stop the object from being wrapped neatly around his neck, but in the end, his attempt is circumvented.

This leaves him with a scarf half looped around his neck, and half caught against his palm. Which means it’s honestly just dropping around his shoulders.]

That’s not necessary. I don’t need it.

xie lian completely ignores the long haired man, still holding the edges of the scarf. sparkle. sparkle. ] You never know! Isn't it better to be prepared?

He pulls at the scarf, off to the side so that it’ll slip off his shoulders... if the other man thinks to let go.]

What are you preparing us for? The long winter? There are more practical items to focus on first if that’s the case.

That's true, but shouldn't we make the best of the items we have? I went to visit this place - [ a brief glance back at Fantasy Costco TM ] - and got what I needed, and far more than that. It'd be a waste for me to keep the rest.

It seems pointless to wear something that looks like that [ugly, for his vanity does exist in small degrees] when I'm not even remotely cold.

That's true, though, you never know if you will be later. Wouldn't it be nice, then?

[supersoldier]

[The look he gives him is both continually dry and the pause runs long. He doesn't answer the question.]

Is this a matter of overt generosity or you trying to shuck off the burden of too-many scarves onto others?

...Why would I shuck that off? I could use these as bandages, or covers for the rain, if I really wanted to. But their intended purpose seems more important, especially with this chill.

[ no he's just genuinely that nice. ] I have no need for these things, but someone else might. It's as simple as that.
