( WELCOME BACK, TRAVELERS. )

There's nothing but the clatter of train tracks, and the odd feeling of almost floating.
When you wake, it's hard to tell exactly what it is that you're missing - only that you are. There are pieces that aren't quite right, even if you're not sure where those pieces would normally be. Pieces of what, exactly....? Well, if you had to put a word to it, it would be - yourself, probably. Or did you get something back recently?
The place you've found yourself in is strange, certainly. It's probably worth exploring a bit. Though it just as easily seems that the only form of welcome or explanation that you have, comes from nothing more than a slab of marble. It might've changed since the last time you saw it.
You might have changed since the last time you saw yourself too - perhaps with a new emblem on your clothes, or a portrait on your skin.
There's no need to fret that much though. You've already gone through the ordeal once, and you might be able to see results from it. Even so, it's best that you don't get too comfortable, because there is still the unshakeable feeling:
There's still much more ahead of you.

But then he's back, which Wen Ning definitely did not see coming, and he blinks up at the bolt cutters.]
Oh-- please, y-you don't need to bother with that--
[You don't have to try to do that for me.]
They... they won't break with normal tools.
no subject
Hm, well, lemme give 'em a try anyways, alright?
[ And try he does, even though he's not the strongest person here. He'll even try stomping on the handle with his foot trying to cut through the chains.
No good.
... ]
So, like, have you ever heard about how you can get out of handcuffs by dislocating your thumbs? We can try something like that...
[ Ankles and wrists heal in time, he's sure. ]
no subject
[He won't stop him from trying, if he's so set on it... but he's not at all surprised by the results. Magic chains are just Like This.
That suggestion takes him by surprise, though, eyes widening as he glances from Kano down to his hands.]
But then w-wouldn't you be unable to use them, once they were off...?
[His brow furrows; the logic works, yes, but he needs his hands? And also feet?]
I'm-- not sure it would be that easy with these, either.
no subject
For a little while, yeah! But then they'll grow back twice as strong, and you'll be just fine. What d'ya think? Wanna give it a try?
no subject
[He can't just remove and reattach digits and limbs the way he could before, this is a Dangerous Proposal!!]
no subject
It would help if we could get those chains off, even just a little, right? I bet we can manage that much! Can you walk? We're going outside~
no subject
[Just give him a second to get to his feet without tripping over them, it's fine he's fine he's got this. Probably.]
But I really don't think that-- that anything is going to work on them.
[There's a slight possibility that's changed, seeing as he's somewhere different and also living, but if the strange tool he'd already tried using didn't work... Wen Ning's not holding out too much hope.]
no subject
[ But he does take the bolt cutters with him, because he'll need it. Once he sees Wen Ning's on his feet, Kano leads the way out of the store and over towards the train tracks— his high hopes are that Wen Ning's never seen a train in his life, and therefore has never tried this before: he lays the chain across the tracks while positioning Wen Ning's cuffs right up against the track as close as he can get without the danger of him losing fingers. ]
And now, we wait for a train to come by and smash 'em to bits~!
no subject
Wait for a-- a what?
[A train, which helpfully shows up as he asks that!
And, as a ye olde who has never seen a metal machine this size and has no idea what the living fuck is barreling their way... Wen Ning lets out a startled little yelp and just runs, scrambling to get away from the tracks before it arrives.
...this ends in him stumbling over the chains in his panic and falling flat on the ground several steps away, but he tried.]
no subject
Before the train gets the chance to pass, Kano grabs the other end of the chains and tries to pull them back over to the other side of the tracks so they're laying across them again. ]
Don't move, okay! Just lie right there! Or— your hair- well. It's okay, it's okay, stay right there!
[ He is going to hope Wen Ning's hair doesn't get caught up in the train wheels, and also that he doesn't get up and try to run again, because that would mean pulling Kano along right over the tracks while the train comes barreling along. ]
no subject
So as terrifying as this all is, he... holds still, shaking a little...
and while real-life physics, according to science google, suggest this might risk derailing the train-- apparently putting objects on the tracks can also result in those objects just being nyoomed right off the tracks like a bullet? Thankfully the train cannot be derailed, so option b it is.
The train hits them at high speed, and rather than the chains breaking... off they go.
Along with Wen Ning who is still very much attached to them.
I can't believe this is where their very first thread is going I'm weeping laughing in the bg card]

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE
Unfortunately, Kano isn't attached to these chains like Wen Ning is cuffed, and he's got like a newborn baby's grip strength so after he lifts up into the air a couple meters, his hands slip and he crashes back to earth while Wen Ning blasts off into the sky. I can't believe Wen Ning is fucking dead. Kano will shed one single tear and salute him while staring up at the sky watching him go. ]
