( WELCOME BACK, TRAVELERS. )

There's nothing but the clatter of train tracks, and the odd feeling of almost floating.
When you wake, it's hard to tell exactly what it is that you're missing - only that you are. There are pieces that aren't quite right, even if you're not sure where those pieces would normally be. Pieces of what, exactly....? Well, if you had to put a word to it, it would be - yourself, probably. Or did you get something back recently?
The place you've found yourself in is strange, certainly. It's probably worth exploring a bit. Though it just as easily seems that the only form of welcome or explanation that you have, comes from nothing more than a slab of marble. It might've changed since the last time you saw it.
You might have changed since the last time you saw yourself too - perhaps with a new emblem on your clothes, or a portrait on your skin.
There's no need to fret that much though. You've already gone through the ordeal once, and you might be able to see results from it. Even so, it's best that you don't get too comfortable, because there is still the unshakeable feeling:
There's still much more ahead of you.

They can! Isn't that amazing? It's all part of the "technology" that people of the future have invented. Like boxes that heat up your food in seconds, or balls of light you hang from the roof that sparkle just like stars!
[When they walk alongside a track that winds particularly close to each other, Wei Wuxian will add to Wen Ning's headache by jumping up and landing on... the track winding above them... His clothing and hair isn't even hanging down, gravity is weird in the void. Helpfully, he holds his hands up! Down? Whatever.]
Come on, come up!
i'm glad i have so many chances to use this icon specifically
[So what? We'll never know, because that's the point where Wei Wuxian just hops up and lands upside fucking down!]
Y-young master Wei--!
[HE'S SO ALARMED for the few moments until he realizes this is fine, that he somehow doesn't seem to actually be upside down....? What? How does this place work?
Wen Ning very hesitantly reaches his hands out, with a little jump, and- yep, there he goes, also upside down and stumbling a bit on the landing, while he looks down (up?) at the space they just left.]
HE SUFFERS SO MUCH...
Meanwhile Wei Wuxian is just grinning like a fool, as if he isn't causing Wen Ning so much stress just by existing.]
It's fine, it's fine! Walking like this is much more fun. Sometimes you can watch the trains pass by under you!

[they're UPSIDE DOWN he's not sure he enjoys this... but at least it doesn't feel like they are? In a way, though, that also doesn't help.]
What if the trains use this path-- do you have much warning?
no subject
[And if there are two trains coming at the same time WELL THEN... Guess they die.]
If you throw yourself off far enough, you could probably just fly through the empty space until you hit another track, too.
no subject
[Like, he is not going to trust that they wouldn't just float through the void indefinitely because they just aren't near any other tracks, the void has not earned that from him.]
no subject
[He can just fly himself back to a track with a thousand papermen, he's the perfect intrepid explorer.
Also, looming up ahead is the AIRPORT.]
