[mingle] the space (january).

( WELCOME BACK, TRAVELERS. )

There's nothing but the clatter of train tracks, and the odd feeling of almost floating.

When you wake, it's hard to tell exactly what it is that you're missing - only that you are. There are pieces that aren't quite right, even if you're not sure where those pieces would normally be. Pieces of what, exactly....? Well, if you had to put a word to it, it would be - yourself, probably. Or did you get something back recently?

The place you've found yourself in is strange, certainly. It's probably worth exploring a bit. Though it just as easily seems that the only form of welcome or explanation that you have, comes from nothing more than a slab of marble. It might've changed since the last time you saw it.

You might have changed since the last time you saw yourself too - perhaps with a new emblem on your clothes, or a portrait on your skin.

There's no need to fret that much though. You've already gone through the ordeal once, and you might be able to see results from it. Even so, it's best that you don't get too comfortable, because there is still the unshakeable feeling:

There's still much more ahead of you.

[He almost misses the left turn and narrowly avoids crashing into a shelf BUT IT'S GOOD, he recovers... and continues to follow...]

Mm, I see, I see! So they shouldn't be too hard to find, especially if they're labeled. Are you looking for any one in particular?

[MORE ISEKAI ADVENTURES INDEED THOUGH. Wei Wuxian nods, hopping off the cart so he can focus more on talking without risk of running into anything.]

Right - presumably we'll be going to another one soon, too. We don't spend all of our time in this space, after all! As nice as the store and airport may be, being here for weeks and weeks with nothing else to do would drive almost anyone up a wall, I'd say.

Mm, good point. That's kinda exciting though, hope we'll get wifi in our next world.

[ HAHAHA... HA.......... ]

Okay, so. There aren't a lot of those cartridges, but...

[ he leads wei wuxian to a shelf with a small selection of giant cartridges, pulling one out and showing him titles like tetris and pong. ]

They're the oldest games in the market. Which is fine, but the repetitive factor can get boring in the long run.

Haha, maybe so! The last world had a lot of interesting technology, so maybe the next one will be even more advanced?

[Oh, to be wifi in the 1920s...

But over he goes! These cartridges are fuckin weird. The concept of an entire game fitting inside a giant plastic... thingy makes about as much sense to him as the idea of a movie fitting on a DVD. The future is wild?? Wild.]

Oh! Tetris... [THE FUCK IS PONG.] Hm, hm - maybe we can just take a few different ones, then. We have enough room for three or four if we stack a few down here!

[Kicking at that little shelf under the main basket of the shopping cart.]

[ super wild. if only itaru can show him the multitude of games installed in his phone alone, but it'd be impossible without wifi... sighs.

so yeah, let's cope with some vintage games for the meantime. itaru stacks pong and tetris together, and - why not, let's bring out pacman and a classic platformer like super mario or something. ]

Think this is everything. Ah, wait, hang on. It's my turn.

[ he climbs onto the cart and sits on it, and points ahead. let's go home to our baby, wwx. ]

Haha, guide me well!

[FORWARD-HO, BACK TO THE GIANT GAMEBOY. Wei Wuxian is a terrible navigator and they almost crash into shelves like every three seconds but it's fine, he always manages to swing away before disaster strikes...

And now they have a cart full of giant batteries and games to play so WHO ARE THE WINNERS HERE TODAY. Time to play pacman for 20 hours before falling into the mafia void.]
